Can I enter Vietnam for business purposes without a work visa?
Yes. You can enter Vietnam for business purposes if you have a valid eVisa. The Vietnam e-Visa is eligible to most nationalities for tourism, business, or transit purposes. This multiple-entry Vietnam eVisa is valid for 90 days and allows you to enter and leave the country multiple times within 90 days.
However, if you plan to visit Vietnam to seek employment or work there legally, a work visa is mandatory. The Vietnam work visa remains valid for up to 02 years and is renewable. Nevertheless, if the work permit validity is shorter than a year, the corresponding work visa validity also applies.
The foreign workers apply for a work visa in Vietnam through their employers, and they then have it stamped at the embassy in their home country. Please note that you must secure a work permit in advance or be in the process of obtaining one before your work visa application process. Additionally, your company must provide you with a Letter of Sponsorship or Letter of Entry Clearance, which they must receive from Vietnam's Immigration Services before you can apply for a work visa.
The representative of foreign workers will submit the necessary documentation to the Vietnam Immigration Department or the Immigration Office under the Department of Public Security in the city or province where the organization has its offices. After submitting enough of the required documents and the visa fee, a notice will be sent to the applicant with the anticipated date of receiving the visa processing result.
